Youth Chorus

Putting young singers on the stage since 2014!

Through the Quad City Music Guild Youth Chorus, youth become familiar with Broadway-style music, learn about our theater, and perform in front of a live audience.

Under the direction of Valeree Pieper and accompanied by Mary Ellen Carroll, the Youth Chorus presents programs in a musical theater genre. The chorus was created in the fall of 2014 with the goal of bringing new young people and their families into Quad City Music Guild.

Please check back in late summer for information about the Youth Chorus’ Fall Season and Audition Opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

The members of the Youth Chorus are 3rd through 8th grade singers from the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. Members have quality unchanged voices and these hard working, enthusiastic young people practice weekly to prepare for their two concerts.

The QCMG Youth Chorus auditions are held in our theater in Prospect Park in Moline twice a year in late summer and winter. Auditioners are asked to bring sheet music of an age-level appropriate song (a minute or less) and be prepared to tap a few rhythms and sing back some simple melodies. An accompanist is provided; no recordings or unaccompanied singing.

Members selected are asked to pay an annual fee of $50 to help offset the cost of music, and to pay for the performance shirt. This is due at the first rehearsal.
