We are proud to bring to the stage this Tony Award winning adaptation of the classic musical, Cinderella. This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved songs including “In My Own Little Corner”, “Impossible/It’s Possible, and “Ten Minutes Ago”, along side an up to date , hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award-nominee Douglas Carter Beane. Based upon the classic fairy tale, and particularly the French version Cendrillon ou la Petite Pantoufle de Verre, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s adaptation brings new life to the story of a young woman forced into servitude who dreams of – and achieves – a better life.

Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and New Book by Douglas Carter Beane and original book by Oscar Hammerstein II.

Sunday, Feb 27th (callbacks, if needed)

Call backs will be as needed Sunday afternoon 

All are encouraged to audition for this great musical. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist (pre-recorded tracks are not allowed) and choose 16 – 32 bars of a song that compliments your voice, range and show. Dress comfortably with appropriate shoes you will learn a short dance. Please, no flip flops or sandals.


Casting decisions will be made based on your audition and the needs of the show. We will be casting 6-8 children. All children who audition must be 9 or in 3rd Grade at the time of audition.

Ella / Cinderella

Mezzo Soprano / Soprano. Her voice must possess a bright cheery timbre with the ability to project in the middle and smooth through the breaks.

Though no one notices her beneath her rags and quite demeanor, she is opinionated, charismatic, passionate, beautiful and funny. Idealistic and hopeful, she courageously challenges the prince to to change the politics in his kingdom and helps him discover who he truly is. Always her late fathers daughter, she is determined to see the good in everyone despite her hardships and suffering. We see her blossom into a confident woman.


Lyric Tenor. With a warm beautiful sound. Must sing to a high “A” but is not required to sustain it.

A misguided and last prince who longs to do something important with his life. Though brave and heroic, he feels lonely and unfulfilled. Charming but not a stereotypical ladies man, he is thoughtful, appealing, and innocent – with and unforced goofy streak. Moral, genuine and kindhearted he is at a crossroads and must take control of his kingdom and his future.

Marie/Fairy Godmother

Lyric Soprano / Mezzo – she must demonstrate a beauty of sound. She should have the ability to sing with a broad range of dynamics and be able to use a character voice as Marie. As the Godmother, a stunning legato and ease of singing is necessary. This character must be able to sustain high “A”s.

A friend to Ella and the town’s resident crazy lady and beggar woman, Marie is actually a Fairy Godmother in disguise. Wise, warm, otherworldly and charming, Marie rewards Ella for her kindness by making her dreams a possible.

Lord Pinkleton

He is a bold bright tenor with heroic tones. Capable of sustained high singing and ability to demonstrate a beautiful legato when called upon. Must be able to post a high “A” for 16 counts.

This character is the Lord Chancellors right hand. Announces Royal Balls, banquets and even the weather to the Villagers.

Charlotte / Stepsister

Mezzo/Belter, bright almost whiney tone. Must be able to sing independent harmonies in “O Lovely Night”.

Ella’s stepsister and daughter of Madame, self-centered, materialistic, snooty, loud, sassy and bratty she has a ridiculously high, but unfounded opinion of herself. She never passes up on an opportunity to be the center of attention.

Gabrielle / Stepsister

Soprano, must be able to sing independent harmonies.

Ella’s stepsister and daughter of Madame. Encouraged by her mother and sister to value material wealth and social status, she unenthusiastically joins them in their abrasive behavior. Quietly passionate, empathetic and witty, she is drawn to Ella and Jean-Michael. Ironically aware that she doesn’t fit in.

Madame / Stepmother

Mezzo Soprano / Alto, must be able to sing independent harmonies.

Ella’s selfish stepmother. The epitome of vanity and fashion. A ravenous social climber who values wealth, status and material possessions above all else. Unapologetically dismissive and sometimes cruel, Madame schemes her way up the social ladder.


Baritone who does mostly ensemble singing bud does have some small solos.

The Kingdom’s Lord Chancellor. Though he is Topher’s trusted advisor, he is devious and selfish. Using propaganda and dishonesty, he keeps Topher isolated and in the dark about his kingdom. Sebastian rules without regard for the lower class, or anyone else other than himself and truly believes he deserves to rule the kingdom.


Baritone- some featured solos with a bright joyful sound.

A feisty, passionate peasant determined to make a change for the starving class. Impetuous. A firebrand, but lacks authority and isn’t taken seriously as a revolutionary. Has a crush on Gabrielle, though their courtship is forbidden because they are are from different social classes.


Any and all, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass/Baritone are welcome.We will be casting 6-8 children age 9 or in 3rd Grade at time of audition with the ability to sing with confidence with projection and Enunciation are qualities that we will be looking for.

The Ensemble will make up the following characters: Knights, Peasants, Serfs, Townspeople, Ladies and Gentleman of the Court, Servants, Footmen, Coachmen, Village Children and more.Two members of the ensemble will be the Fox and the Racoon transformed from Puppets.
